The role of a site supervisor or team leader within the construction field has an important task of implementing effective control to the work force.
Supervisors maintain regular contact with their workers on site. Because of this, it is important that they ensure that; all workers know how to work safely and without any risk to their own or their colleagues health, and that all workers follow the organisations guidelines on health and safety.
A Site Supervisor can coach, help and guide workers to become competent in these areas. Learn more about site supervisor responsibilities here: HSE
Recently, a Site Supervisor had been convicted of Manslaughter after a lawyer was killed when unsecured window frames weighing more than half a tonne fell on her in a London street. It is important for Site Supervisors to be correctly trained to avoid devastating accidents like this. Learn more about this here: IOSH
