One of our most popular courses is the SIA Door Supervisor course. This course allows candidates to apply for the SIA License and then work within the security industry.
This course not only approves you to work in bars and nightclubs, it will also allow you to work in non licensed premises such as shopping centres, construction sites and also events and concerts.
Here we will go through some of our most frequently asked questions about the course
1: Working in The Private Security Industry
2: Working as a Door Supervisor
3: Conflict Management for The Private Security Industry
4: Physical Intervention Skills for The Private Security Industry
There are 3 multiple choice exams and a practical element to this course. Some people may find exams slightly daunting but there is absolutely no need to worry. Our trainers are highly qualified and will keep you up to speed with everything you need to know. Our pass rates are at the top end of the industry, we are positive that you will complete the exams with ease.
Once you receive your certificate for your Door Supervisor Training, you can then apply for a license. Note that you have 2 years from completion of the course to apply for your license.
Your application is completed online here: https://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/Pages/licensing-applying.aspx . Once you have completed your application online, you will then have to show your ID and make payment (£220) at one of the registered Post Offices in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, there are only two, one in Derry/Londonderry and one in Belfast.
After this is completed, you must complete then an Access NI check which will be sent to the SIA.
Usually, from the date of submitting your application, it takes about 6 weeks, however, it may take longer.
