The Health and Safety First Aid at Work Regulations 1981 (Northern Ireland 1982) requires employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. The HSE accredited course will provide the successful delegate with a HSE accredited certificate in First Aid at Work valid for three years.
This First Aid at Work course will be delivered over 3 full days or over a maximum of 13 weeks of 2 hours per day. The course covers training in the following areas: Responsibilities of the Appointed Person, Action at an Emergency, Primary Assessment, Secondary Assessment, Breathing Disorders, Principles of Resuscitation, Airway Obstruction, Disorders of Circulation, Bites and Stings, Foreign Objects, Burns and Scalds, Bones, Joints and Muscle Injuries, Poisoning, Head Injuries, Effects of Heat and Cold, Child and Baby Basic Life Support, Wounds and Bleeding and much more.
All delegates will carry out written and practical assessments.
